Samuel Hopkins Adams wrote a series of eleven articles called "The Great American Fraud". In his articles he talked about some of the most popular medicines in the country. He wrote that a lot of of the companies producing these medicines were making false claims about their products. He also wrote that this was causing health problems to many people consuming these medications.
His writings did lead to a successful reform because of his investigations it resulted in the passing of the Pure Food and Drugs Act in 1906. This meant that they were not allowed to have falsification to the ingredients used in the medicine they were selling.
